Message from Pres John.
Tonight the District Governor Renga Rajan will update us on the coming year in our District. I encourage all fellows and partners to attend . He will be accompanied by Assistant Governor Bharathi Rengarajan. We will also have NYSF attendees returning Anastasia Macan and Justin Nguyen. Also Lachlan Restifa who attended the Science Experience. We will postpone the Board Meeting until our next meeting in two weeks time.

PDG Paul Sarks introduced MYRA Castellano-Hegarty RC Blacktown District Chair.
Myra is from RC Blacktown City and is the International Director RAWCS. Australia and New Zealand
She goes to Philippines and organ sises Medical and Dental care for the Indigenous community
Only need 10K to buy medications. She visits local Clubs to encourage new projects.
District meeting February 14 after Governance Workshop.
Questions: Has run medical missions for the past 17 years, sees about 1000 patients per visit, uses local professionals, Eyecare provided from the USA. They go to the same region which is the Negros region.
Myra was thanked by PDG Paul Sarks, .
PP Keith ran a Sergeants Session and we were fined.
Raffle won by pp Keith who donated his gift to our Guest Myra.

Rotary Club Meeting Minutes

President Garry welcomed fellows, visiting Rotarian PDG Paul Sarks, and guests Christine Parish, James Bentley, Steven Cooksen, Carmel Sarks, Francis Michael, exchange students Luc Gut and Steph DeLael, and guest speaker John O’Grady.
Sick Report: John Brooks is in hospital and is not well.
President Garry:
Presented "Eurella House Community Services donations" on behalf of the club. Took a guided tour of the facilities with PP Alidan, Sana Kamalesan, and Paul Matthysen.
Reported contact from PCYC regarding new initiatives; they require a computer and printer to assist at-risk youth.
Extended condolences to Peter Komander, John Kane’s business partner, on the passing of his mother.
Secretary PP David Wright:
Shared minutes from the President’s Meeting. Presented a letter regarding the President Elect Budget for 2001/2002. Noted significant mail for Peter Moore.
Announced the National Science Forum on 15th June; nominations due for Year 11 students.
Circulated the Team Challenge Newsletter.
Received correspondence from C.S.H.S. about smoking and tobacco issues.
Shared the North Shore Heart Research Art Union and Newsletter.
Reported on Eastern Region 9690 Rotary RAWCS meeting minutes, highlighting incredible work by fellow Rotarians.
Promoted Rotaract’s “Splash for Cash” event on 24th March; Pres Elect Fuad, PP Davies, and PP Fred are participating.
John Kane:
Announced a Round Robin event to welcome the GSE team on 7th March at Homebush Bowling Club, 6.30pm, $25 per head.
Distributed forms for Youth Exchange programs for students aged 16–18.
PP Walter Bock:
Suggested better promotion of youth programs.
Requested donations of old glasses, stamps, and hearing aids (excluding false teeth) for underdeveloped countries.
Updated on the Mini Loans project in China: a $3,000 donation could sponsor a $33,400 program.
Acknowledged Bjorn Kohlberg’s assistance with the Aus Aid submission.
Announced another water pump project in Binxian County supported by the Community Chest.
Pres Elect Fuad:
Requested a golf player for a competition next Thursday.
Song Session
John Kane led the club in singing “Jamaica Farewell.” All members participated enthusiastically.
Induction of New Member
PDG Paul Sarks was inducted into the Rotary Club of Burwood. He has previously served the Rotary Clubs of Enfield and Strathfield. His classification is Religious Art Distribution, and he will join the Youth Committee under Director Peter Moore. PDG Paul expressed his pleasure in joining the club and appreciation for the fellowship.
Eurella Fundraiser
Eurella is running a fundraiser with " Comedy for a Cause " on Friday May 20th. Venue to be advised.
