New Generations ( YOUTH) Rob Whitney. We conducted three interviews for National Youth Science Forum (NYSF) to be held in January. Rob nd Peter Moore Interviewed three young ladies who we will endorse and send on for the District Interview. They will be strong candidates. We also had a late application. To consider.

Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment ( Rypen) also coming up.  Anyone interested please nominate someone?

Membership

We have had a decline in membership like other clubs, we have to make an effort to attract new members. We have had a pleasing recent induction of members. Also, thank you to our long standing members

Sam Helou. Reported on the Sandakan function in Burwood Park. Free sausage sizzle supported by Burwood Council raised $ 2500.00. We had all food donated and so we made this amount, All this money will be donated back into our local community in the next twelve months. Other money donated will be given to the club for future donations.

Pp Keith suggested money could be used to update our marketing material, and promotional material

Sam said we need a new trailer to transport the BBQ. First we will get a quote for a trailer and see if we can raise some money, possibly by internal donations

Sana booked this location for a fund raiser and Fashion Parade. See today's Spoke for details. After discussion it may be better to delay to a later time early next year and in a bigger location. Money raised to be donated to Philippines schools. Can get sixty people in Coro 88. Will we raise enough money ?...Sana has donors and clothes, Hugo suggested Redfern town hall. Remember we have the Primary School Awards this year and Melbourne Cup Night and Burwood festival,

New member Marilee

Age 57 Happy to be a Rotarian. She was a Rotaract President in the Philippines and took photos for Rotary in Germany at an International Conference in 1987, Both her parents were Rotarians, ( now deceased) Mother was a teacher and journalist. and on the radio, Marilie went down the same path, She presents on community radio in Padstow. Has a two hour voice in the community and can promote Rotary

Now trying to raise money for two schools affected by the typhoon in Philippines . Their roof has been damaged and classes have to be combined, We are trying to help the children but we may delay the fund raiser until the new year, so may do it in Feb as Jan is school holidays and many people are on holidays.

So she is happy to talk to group and share the culture of the Philippines. We should have a wreath to present at Sandakan.
Marie is eldest of five, three are in Australia and one brother murdered as he was in a witness program. She married a Persian Russian, from Iran, and is Jewish, and is a past ambassador in Iran. He was a Olympic silver medalist in velodrome. She has one child from first marriage, and is raising awareness against the drug culture. She has leaflets to hand out.

PDG Lloyd Roever- Rotary Foundation. How does it work, last issue of Rotary down under was an explanation of the Rotary Foundation and how it works, As well as the Rotary Program for the eradication of Polio World wide. He will send a copy of the newsletter to every one and we should all read it
